To mark the 200 th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, World Health Organization has designated the year 2020 as “International Year for Nurse and Midwife” and is calling for us “to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives and remind the world leaders of the critical role they play in keeping the world healthy, on World Health Day, this April 7 th. “Globally, 70% of the health and social workforce are women.
