Nada India Foundation celebrated "World Obesity Day" at Daulat Ram College at their Annual social festival "Aagaaz 2020". Nada India Health Advocates Riya Thapliyal and Devid spent the afternoon speaking to students, spreading the word and promoting good health on campus.
Devid said, "agar aapko obesity ki problem hai toh aap cancer, blood pressure, jaisi ghatak bimariyon se bhi ulajh rahe ho". Riya helped students establish the link between obesity and climate change which was the theme of the festival.
Students were surprised to discover this link and also the global event was news for them, they didn't know such a day was celebrated today.
Farha wished for everyone's well being and asked today's youth which she said is tomorrow's future to take this growing problem of obesity seriously. Diksha Rawat, a student of Vivekananda College mentioned how an obese person led out more carbon dioxide than a non obese person and pledged that she would take care of herself and her environment. Everyone acknowledged obesity to be a global crisis that needed immediate intervention and regarded healthy eating and daily exercise as means to combating the problem.
